Review:
I usually do not like movies about sports. I love sports, not just movies about sports. That being said, this film is not so much about baseball as it was about the relationship between father and daughter. He also touched on how technology has taken the human factor is scouting for players. This film is the opposite of Moneyball, where technology actually helps build a team. Gus Lobel (Clint Eastwood) is an aging scout for Atlanta, who struggles with his vision and front-office doubts whether he has to work to identify and coming talent. Because of this disease, adds Gus grumpy old man who is actually a lot of humor in the film. His character is kind of reminded me of the character, which Eastwood played in Grand Torino. His daughter, Mickey (Amy Adams) discovers that her father could hardly be reluctant to take on the roll care, and so her father on his scouting adventures. By the way, she knows more about baseball than probably anyone else in the film. Johnny Flanagan (Justin Timberlake) is an aspiring sports broadcaster, has been studied Gus years ago. Relationships that develop between Mickey (named after Mickey) and Johnny exciting to watch and gives an insight into Mickey's reluctance to develop a serious relationship with someone. Pete Klein (John Goodman) plays the role of an intermediary who brings Mickey and Gus together. I really liked his unwavering devotion and confidence in Gus. It was also good to see again, Scott Eastwood (Billy Clarke) act with his father. They acted together in several films, and it was good to see them spend some time with his family. I think the whole cast has definitely made this movie better, and I'm sure it will attract younger viewers to the theater. I do not think this movie was absolutely brilliant, but it was quite interesting. There were aspects of the film, which was predictable, but I look forward to seeing him play. Directed by Robert Lorenz could not hit it out of the park (as he did with Million Dollar Baby), but I think this particular Triple Play. I would recommend you not to sit on the bench and go out and see this movie. I give this movie a green light.
