Review:
I remember fondly, Henry Fonda and Raymond Massey as Lincoln in his younger Mr.Lincoln and Abe Lincoln in Illinois have received quite a lot of activity. But, here and now in this unusual Steven Spielberg / Tony Kushner version, the illusion is complete. I looked at the president and never for a moment thought of the actor. This in itself is close to unique. I left the theater with a feeling Ive only had an out of body experience. All around the central action - and I call it a performance, because I do not know what else to call it - into place miraculously. Photography, the production design, wardrobe allowed actually smell the period. Congratulations and thank you.
