Review:
The cabin in the woods is a spin on the horror genre writers Joss Whedon and Drew Goddard, without giving away say spoilerish parts of the plot, I will simply has 5 friends that fit the horror movie stereotypes ( jock, bitch, part Guy, Nerd, Virgin), a cabin in the woods to go to a party and get away from it all. The problem is, he never really be sure about a cabin in the woods is this? To be honest, the less you know about this movie, most will be awesome. I felt that the trailer gave away very little twists and turns you can expect from the film, but at the same time the image of a bird flying into a giant force field is that apart from the generic horror movies this the film, to hit the theaters today. The cabin in the woods tells advance you think you know the story ... but of course you do not. This is Joss Whedon, after all. Fans of Buffy and Angel get a kick out of it, as players make their way out of this universe in film.Its been a long time since I've had a lot of fun in the film and in cabin Woods was fun. It is a strange film to sell because a lot of it has to be kept secret in order to make the second half of the film exciting and fresh. It adds a few genres together, the two most important horror and comedy and it works perfectly. Both Goddard and Whedon worked on Buffy and Angel, which was a balancing act of genres, so they know the right tone to get here and are nailed. Take the clich d aspects of a horror movie and put it in here to use brilliant. We actually get to a character flaw stupid reasons it was fun to see this whole aspect of the film. Richard Jenkins and Bradley Whitford have great chemistry together and stole every scene they're in. I love to see these two character actors working together again, they really made this film fun and are a pleasure to watch on the screen. The young actors, including Thor himself Chris Hemsworth, horror cliché characters to sell very well. In most horror films I can count the characters, I was here for all of them.There are some really funny moments roots, I'm dying to talk about it, but to ruin the surprise. All I can say is that I laugh throughout the film, I cheered, I clapped and me. There are plenty of horror references, especially the Evil Dead, so fun, things to see her here and there. I think horror fans really get a kick out of this flick and I pray that does well, because this is the most fun I've had in a long time. Drew Goddard directorial debut gig had a lot on his plate and he managed to pull off one hell of a film. It helps if you have someone like Joss Whedon in your corner, but I welcome it because it will be able to drag the tone perfectly, I imagine the script on the screen process was identical. This is a very clever script, laughs, gore and surprises around every corner. If you Goddard working on Buffy, Angel, Lost and wrote Cloverfield, along with Joss Whedon partner, one of the best writers working today, then you know you're walking into something special. I can not recommend this enough flick. When it comes out, you have to go see. Just make sure that you do not know much about this before, or can ruin a huge factor.
